COVID 19 Outbreak Response
Fiveways Surgery is committed to your safety during a COVID-19 outbreak. The Delta variant is very contagious. Patients must follow the instructions below during an outbreak.
We have made the following decisions to protect you during the time of an outbreak:
You may not attend the clinic if you have any symptoms that could be attributable to COVID-19 (see below). You do not need a referral for a COVID-19 test. We can conduct a telehealth consult to advise you during this time. Testing locations can be found here for Qld Health sites; here for Respiratory clinics, or via Sullivan and Nicolaides, QML or 4Cyte
There will be no long face to face consultations during this time. Mental health consults will be conducted via phone or video consults.
Telehealth (video or phone) is preferred for consultations where an examination is not required.
Patients must wear an appropriately fitted mask at all time. Failure to comply may result in the termination of the doctor-patient relationship.
There is a zero tolerance policy for abuse, intimidation or aggressive behaviour towards our staff.
The Covax clinic will operate differently. There will be no consultations or questions answered during this time. Turn up only if you wish to receive your vaccine. For Dose 2, patients who come with a partner, friend or family member can wait for 15 minutes in their car or outside and alert us if any symptoms occur. If there are no symptoms they may leave.
Telehealth for all possible viral illnesses
